Restoration and Functional Conversion of the “La Roncolina” Center – Brazzacco

The project involves the restoration and adaptive reuse of the La Roncolina Center in Moruzzo, a 1950s building originally used as an agritourism facility and converted into a headquarters for “La Scuoletta.” The intervention covered approximately 1,000 sqm of interior space and required a complete functional transformation, with the aim of creating spaces fully compliant with regulations, safe, and suitable for associative and educational activities.

Structural strengthening works, energy efficiency improvements and a full interior reorganization were carried out. A central aspect of the project was the redesign of spaces originally conceived for a completely different use, resolving spatial and structural issues while ensuring fully functional environments. Particular attention was given to the removal of architectural barriers and to the creation of continuous, accessible circulation paths between the different levels.

The interiors were designed to be bright and welcoming, including conference rooms, spaces for dialogue and meetings, and areas dedicated to the center’s activities. Material and color choices were intended to create a calm atmosphere in harmony with the surrounding natural context, while maintaining a connection with the building’s original identity. Where possible, elements recalling the memory of the place were preserved, such as wooden flooring and characteristic architectural features left visible.

A symbolic element of the building — the historic fireplace — was restored and secured, becoming both a historical reference and a focal gathering point.
