Renovation and Restoration of a Farmhouse with the Creation of Two Residential Units in Rivignano Teor

The intervention concerns the renovation of a farmhouse located in the center of Rivignano Teor, converted into two residential units for an extended family made up of several siblings who wished to live close to one another. Developed between 2021 and 2022, the project involved a deep structural upgrade: reconstruction of the foundations, masonry reinforcement, consolidation of floor slabs and complete replacement of the roof, with the insertion of a steel structure to stabilize the building.
The internal layout was designed to meet different needs: one unit functions as a shared gathering space, featuring a double-height living area with a mezzanine suitable for social moments; the second, more compact unit is organized to provide a greater number of sleeping accommodations.
The project enhances the rustic identity of the building by leaving wooden beams exposed and selecting original brick masonry to remain visible. At the same time, the intervention aimed at a significant improvement in energy performance through an external thermal insulation system and high-level insulation of the roof and ground-floor slab. Particular attention was given to the local issue of rising damp, addressed through new osmotic concrete foundations.
